District Museum Josefstadt is dedicated to the history of Vienna's 8th district with over 22,000 objects – old photographs, street signs, books and personal finds bring history to life. 🎭📚
The permanent exhibition on the first floor focuses on theater and music and includes, among other things, historical instruments such as a Bösendorfer piano (c. 1866) belonging to Franz von Suppé. Concerts, readings and workshops regularly take place in the concert hall.
For families: children's and baby concerts are regular highlights; visitors with a baby are asked to bring a baby carrier, as there is no elevator and only limited space for strollers on the upper floor – strollers can be left in the inner courtyard. Admission to the museum is free, special events are subject to a fee. 👶🎶
For age groups: 0–2, 2–6, 6–10, 10–12, and from 12 years.
About 500 square meters of exhibition space with changing special exhibitions.
Guided school and group tours available on request.
