The Parliament is the heart of Austrian politics and a fascinating excursion destination for families. It features an impressive historic building 🏛️, a multimedia visitor center 🎧 and numerous guided tours – ideal for curious people of all ages 👨👩👧👦.
Regular tours start hourly and showcase, among other things, the Historic Chamber, the Federal Council Chamber and the National Council Chamber. For families there are special tours for children aged 6–10 years and 11–14 years. There are also age-appropriate school tours for youths.
Plenary sessions of the National Council and the Federal Council are generally open to the public – participation from age 10, children under 14 require an accompanying adult. Admission is free 🎟️; for obtaining the free ticket a photo ID is required.
The Parliament building is currently undergoing renovations. During the renovation, visitor programs and tours continue to take place, however in the Hofburg, in the Zwischenbau at Heldenplatz and in Palais Epstein – the temporary visitor center at Heldenplatz is open.
