The Spittelau Waste Incineration Plant combines waste, energy and art in a fascinating way – a colorful landmark with a golden dome, designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. 🎨🏭
During the free tours (German & English), visitors gain exciting insights: a glass floor above the waste bunker, a view into the control center, and clear explanations of recycling, district heating and district cooling. 🔍♻️
For children and school classes there are age-appropriate tours: school tours from the fourth grade (about 10 years old) and special district cooling tours from the ninth grade. Each child-friendly tour ends with a small gift 🎁; about 3,000 young people participate annually.
